Worldwide appointment of Online Travel Training by Lufthansa City Center (LCC)
'Powered by Online Travel Training' will be appearing on the PC's of leading travel agencies around the world following Lufthansa City Center's choice of Online Travel Training (OTT) to deliver product training to LCC's franchise agents globally.
LCC is the world's largest franchise of independent travel agents with over 600 agents in 77 countries and over €4bn annual turnover.
UK-based Web Portal OTT has already been appointed to host and run online training for Advantage Travel agents, GTMC members and ANTOR in the UK and now has its sights on rolling out the product training platform to an international audience.
Announcing the choice, LCC Managing Director Rainer Schaefer commented : "We are delighted to appoint OTT to complete our worldwide online training platform. OTT's technology and expertise will help us to enlarge the LCC online training academy with a broad variety of product and destination training. This will help industry suppliers and tourist boards to spread their product information to enhance the knowledge of our 5,000 employees around the globe and upgrade our customer service significantly".
OTT already offers over 90 training courses to over 24,000 registered travel trade users on its open-access website www.onlinetraveltraining.co.uk. Recent travel companies and destinations signing up to promote their product training on OTT's platform in the UK include Virgin Atlantic, Etihad, Avis, Hilton, Gold Medal Travel, California Tourism, Rail Europe, Silversea Cruises & Amadeus.
Advantage Travel's OTT-powered 'The Edge' training intranet launches in the next month to train their 4,000 agency members' staff on preferred suppliers' product; and the new 'Business Channel' training site for GTMC member agents is due to launch this Autumn, again 'powered by Online Travel Training'.
OTT's Chairman Simon Beeching commented: "We are delighted to have been chosen by Lufthansa City Center to run such a prestigious, multi-lingual training programme around the world. This is a major stepping stone in expanding our business internationally, having now established OTT as the widest choice of product e-learning for travel agents in the UK".
