COURSE LEADER :
Online Travel Training is the biggest provider, with 60-plus courses and 100 expected by the year's end.
It claims the largest number of registered users with 29,000 and is adding some 1,000 users a month.
Operations director Bruce Martin says: " Key to the growth has been the invention of our training template. For the first time, clients are able to create their training themselves and enjoy 100% control of content. They can add and edit modules themselves without the typical high costs and delays associated with web design and delivery.
This as knocked down the barriers for many organisations which used to think training was too expensive and time-consuming. It's resulted in many small and niche organisation creating training and engaging with our large database of agent learners."
Martin says more than 500 agents complete most courses, while a few have pass rated of over 1,000.
Organisations using Online Travel Training to power their own system include Advantage Travel Centres and the Guild of Travel Management companies.
" The most popular programmes are those that are easy to follow," adds Martin. " It's important to take a bite-sized approach, as people can't spend hours doing training. Incentives are important and shopping vouchers or cinema tickets are easier to win than fam trip places."
One of his clients, Qantas Holidays, has seen an increase in bookings as a direct result of launching training in 2009...
