It is extremely important that business travellers have the correct documentation for the country or countries they intend to visit. Stories of travellers being wrongly-advised or not advised at all are much rarer these days, but it does happen.
Legislation in the UK puts the responsibility for giving correct information to travellers onto the person advising them. This means that the travel consultant handling the booking or enquiry is first n line if mistakes are made, and the client is looking to blame and claim.
Most Travel Management Companies (TMCs) will have indemnity insurance cover for these eventualities – but it doesn’t look good on a C.V. if the travel consultant gets it wrong!
