Many Travel Management Companies (TMCs) have a specialist department, set up to deal with accommodation requests. All requests for reservations are sent to them and they process the booking, either confirming back to the TMCs business travel centre, or to the corporate client direct.
Most business travel centres handle accommodation enquiries themselves. It can be very time consuming, even with all the modern technology and on-screen scripts which are commonly used to speed-up the process.
In this module we will look at types of accommodation, classifications and grading, types of room rates, meal plans, meetings, and reservations procedures.

The Corporate Client’s Travel Policy
All corporate clients have a set policy on accommodation, especially if they have negotiated their own rates direct with a hotel or hotel chain.
This will mean that all requests for accommodation from the travel booker or business traveller must be made for these hotels, where available. Alternative hotels will only be used if the Corporate client’s preferred choices are not available.
