The amount spent on transportation will form the largest part of a Corporate client’s overall travel budget.
If money can be saved on this part of a travel itinerary, it could mean more business trips can take place, thus increasing the Corporate client’s opportunity to promote themselves, meet more of their customers and complete more sales, or carry out research on future business deals, or otherwise successfully achieve the purpose of their visit.
Most Travel Management Companies (TMCs) - especially those on Management fees, where the Corporate client pays for the TMCs expertise in all components of travel arrangements - will have instructions written into the Contract and Service Level Agreements that concern the TMCs ability to obtain cheaper air fares on a given route. The Corporate client will expect that cost savings on air fares will be achieved whenever possible, otherwise the consequences could mean that the TMC will lose the client to another provider of travel services.
